गंगा दशहरा मंत्र — गंगा अवतरण
Ganga Dussehra (गंगा दशहरा) celebrates the descent of Goddess Ganga from heaven to earth, when she came down through Shiva's locks to liberate the ancestors of King Bhagiratha. Falling on the tenth day of Jyeshtha Shukla Paksha, it is a day of holy bathing in the Ganga, charity and the worship of Maa Ganga. These are the mantras for Ganga Dussehra.

Sing the Ganga Aarti "Om Jai Gange Mata" on the riverbank or at home, waving the lamp before Maa Ganga as is done daily at the ghats of Haridwar and Varanasi.

Recite the Ganga Chalisa on Ganga Dussehra, remembering her descent and her power to wash away the sins of many births.
Ganga Mantra & Snan
While bathing or offering Gangajal, chant "Om Namo Gangaye Vishwarupini Narayani Namo Namah" and "Har Har Gange".
Shiva & Gayatri — Ganga from Shiva's Locks
Ganga descended through Shiva's matted hair. Recite the Shiv Chalisa and the Gayatri Mantra on Ganga Dussehra in gratitude.
