धनतेरस मंत्र — लक्ष्मी कुबेर धन्वंतरि पूजा

Dhanteras (धनतेरस), or Dhanatrayodashi, is the first day of Diwali, dedicated to wealth (dhan) and health. It celebrates Goddess Lakshmi, Kubera the treasurer, and Lord Dhanvantari, the divine physician who emerged with the pot of amrit. It is the most auspicious day to buy gold, silver and new utensils. These are the mantras for Dhanteras.

Dhanvantari Mantra — For Health

Dhanteras is also Dhanvantari Jayanti. Chant "Om Namo Bhagavate Dhanvantaraye" for health and freedom from disease, alongside Vishnu prayers, since Dhanvantari is a form of Vishnu.

Recite the Sri Suktam, the Rig Vedic hymn to Lakshmi, on Dhanteras for lasting and abundant prosperity.

Mahalakshmi Ashtakam & Lakshmi Aarti

Recite the Mahalakshmi Ashtakam and perform the Lakshmi Aarti, lighting a lamp at the doorway to welcome the Goddess of wealth.

How to do Dhanteras puja at home?
In the evening (Pradosh Kaal), clean the home and the entrance, light a lamp (and a special Yama deepak at the doorway), and worship Lakshmi, Ganesha and Kubera with flowers, sweets and the new gold/silver/utensil bought that day. Chant the Lakshmi and Kubera mantras, recite the Mahalakshmi Ashtakam, and perform the Lakshmi Aarti.
