Tuesday Mangalvar Vrat (Hanuman Fast)
मंगलवार व्रत (हनुमान व्रत)
Mangalvar Vrat (मंगलवार व्रत) is dedicated to Lord Hanuman and Mangal Dev (Mars). Tuesday is Hanuman's most sacred day. This vrat removes Mangal Dosha from the horoscope, brings courage, strength, and protects from enemies and evil forces. It is especially recommended for those with Mars-related problems — delayed marriage (Manglik dosha), anger issues, property disputes, and surgical problems.
Fasting Rules & Vidhi
Wake early, bathe, and wear red or orange clothes. Visit a Hanuman temple.
Fast the entire day. One meal of wheat-based food in the evening after puja.
Offer sindoor (vermillion), red flowers, jasmine oil, and jaggery to Hanuman.
Recite Hanuman Chalisa — ideally 7 times or at minimum once.
Read Sunderkand (the 5th chapter of Ramcharitmanas) for maximum benefit.
Donate red items — red cloth, red flowers, or jaggery to the temple.
Significance & Story
Tuesday is ruled by Mars (Mangal), and Lord Hanuman is the deity who controls Mars. Hanuman is the supreme devotee of Lord Ram — he represents selfless service, courage, and devotion. Reciting Hanuman Chalisa on Tuesday removes all fears, protects from black magic and evil spirits, and grants physical and mental strength. The Bajrang Baan is chanted for immediate protection from danger.
