Sita Navami Mantras — Prayers to Mata Sita & Ram
Sita Navami (सीता नवमी) — also called Janaki Navami — celebrates the appearance of Mata Sita, the daughter of King Janaka and divine consort of Lord Ram, the very embodiment of devotion, purity and forbearance. It falls on the Navami of the bright fortnight of Vaishakha. Married women keep a vrat on this day for the long life and well-being of their husband. These are the Sita-Ram mantras and prayers for the festival.
Ram Raksha Stotra
The great protective armour of Sri Ram by Sage Budha Kaushika — recited on Sita Navami to invoke the grace and protection of Sita-Ram.
Sita Aarti
The aarti of Mata Sita, sung with devotion on her appearance day as the lamp is offered to Janaki, the Mother of the world.
Ram Chalisa
The forty-verse hymn to Lord Ram. Since Sita is ever worshipped with Ram as "Siya-Ram", the Ram Chalisa is central to Sita Navami.
Ram Stuti — Shri Ramachandra Kripalu
Tulsidas's beloved stuti "Shri Ramachandra Kripalu Bhaju Mana" — a perfect prayer to Sita-Ram for the festival.
Hanuman Chalisa
Hanuman is the greatest devotee of Sita-Ram and Sita blessed him with immortality. Reciting the Hanuman Chalisa honours that bond on Sita Navami.
