Sit quietly and soften the breath. Recite the line three times with feeling, holding the intention that every being — known and unknown — be happy and free. Finish with 'Om Shanti Shanti Shanti', the threefold peace for body, speech and mind.

Traditionally three times, followed by 'Om Shanti Shanti Shanti'. The threefold repetition reinforces the intention across body, mind and spirit.
