The Shiva Aparadha Kshamapana Stotram is traditionally ascribed to Adi Shankaracharya. A heartfelt prayer to Lord Shiva begging forgiveness for the faults and lapses of one’s worship and life — "O Shankara, consort of Parvati, in Your mercy protect me." Sung in surrender, it asks the Lord to overlook every offence (aparadha) and grant His grace.

जय शङ्कर पार्वतीपते कृपया पाहि परेश सत्पते निजमन्युमिषुं तथेषुधिं परिहायैहि हरन्भवाम्बुधिम् १॥ पशुपाय नमः पिनाकिने वृषवाहाय सुगुप्तनाकिने प्रमथाधिभुवे स्वयम्भुवे परविद्याविभवेऽस्तु शम्भवे २॥ प्रवरोऽस्म्यहमीश पापिनां प्रवरस्त्वं करुणोऽसि तापिनाम् दयनीय इतःपरः क्व ते वद शम्भो जगतीह सद्गते ३॥ सचराचरविश्वहेतवे प्रभवे ते श्रुतिधर्मसेतवे भिषजेऽस्तु नमोऽष्टमूर्तये निजभक्तेप्सितकामपूर्तये ४॥ इति श्रीवासुदेवानन्दसरस्वतीविरचितं श्रीशङ्करापराधक्षमापनस्तोत्रं सम्पूर्णम्

jaya śaṅkara pārvatīpate kṛpayā pāhi pareśa satpate | nijamanyumiṣuṃ tatheṣudhiṃ parihāyaihi haranbhavāmbudhim || 1|| paśupāya namaḥ pinākine vṛṣavāhāya suguptanākine | pramathādhibhuve svayambhuve paravidyāvibhave'stu śambhave || 2|| pravaro'smyahamīśa pāpināṃ pravarastvaṃ karuṇo'si tāpinām | dayanīya itaḥparaḥ kva te vada śambho jagatīha sadgate || 3|| sacarācaraviśvahetave prabhave te śrutidharmasetave | bhiṣaje'stu namo'ṣṭamūrtaye nijabhaktepsitakāmapūrtaye || 4|| iti śrīvāsudevānandasarasvatīviracitaṃ śrīśaṅkarāparādhakṣamāpanastotraṃ sampūrṇam |

अर्थ:भगवान शिव से अपनी पूजा व जीवन की त्रुटियों व अपराधों की क्षमा माँगती हुई हृदयस्पर्शी प्रार्थना — "हे शंकर, पार्वतीपते, कृपा कर मेरी रक्षा करो।" शरणागत भाव से यह स्तोत्र प्रभु से समस्त अपराध क्षमा कर कृपा देने की याचना करता है।

शिव अपराध क्षमापन स्तोत्रम् पाठ के लाभ

Recitation of the Shiva Aparadha Kshamapana Stotram is held to bring the grace, blessings and protection of the Lord.

Bathe and sit facing east or north before an image of the deity. Light a lamp and recite the Shiva Aparadha Kshamapana Stotram slowly and with devotion. It may be chanted daily, or especially during Maha Shivaratri, Pradosh and the month of Shravan. Conclude with a prayer for grace and protection.
