The Shanmukha Pancharatnam is traditionally ascribed to Sringeri Acharya. A "five-gem" hymn to Shanmukha (Lord Murugan) — five jewel-verses adoring the six-faced Lord, son of Shiva, who rides the peacock and bears the vel (spear).

It is said that to recite the Shanmukha Pancharatnam with a sincere and devoted heart is to draw near to the grace of the Lord, who never forsakes those who lovingly call upon Him.

ૐ શ્રીગણેશાય નમઃ । સ્ફુરદ્વિદ્યુદ્વલ્લીવલયિતમગોત્સઙ્ગવસતિં ભવાપ્પિત્તપ્લુષ્ટાનમિતકરુણાજીવનવશાત્ । અવન્તં ભક્તાનામુદયકરમમ્ભોધર ઇતિ પ્રમોદાદાવાસં વ્યતનુત મયૂરોઽસ્ય સવિધે ॥ ૧॥ સુબ્રહ્મણ્યો યો ભવેજ્જ્ઞાનશક્ત્યા સિદ્ધં તસ્મિન્દેવસેનાપતિત્વમ્ । ઇત્થં શક્તિં દેવસેનાપતિત્વં સુબ્રહ્મણ્યો બિભ્રદેષ વ્યનક્તિ ॥ ૨॥ પક્ષોઽનિર્વચનીયો દક્ષિણ ઇતિ ધિયમશેષજનતાયાઃ । જનયતિ બર્હી દક્ષિણનિર્વચનાયોગ્યપક્ષયુક્તોઽયમ્ ॥ ૩॥ યઃ પક્ષમનિર્વચનં યાતિ સમવલમ્બ્ય દૃશ્યતે તેન । બ્રહ્મ પરાત્પરમમલં સુબ્રહ્મણ્યાભિધં પરં જ્યોતિઃ ॥ ૪॥ ષણ્મુખં હસન્મુખં સુખામ્બુરાશિખેલનં સન્મુનીન્દ્રસેવ્યમાનપાદપઙ્કજં સદા । મન્મથાદિશત્રુવર્ગનાશકં કૃપામ્બુધિં મન્મહે મુદા હૃદિ પ્રપન્નકલ્પભૂરુહમ્ ॥ ૫॥ ઇતિ જગદ્ગુરુ શૃઙ્ગેરીપીઠાધિપ શ્રીચન્દ્રશેખરભારતી શ્રીપાદૈઃ વિરચિતા શ્રીષણ્મુખપઞ્ચરત્નસ્તુતિઃ સમાપ્તા ।
oṃ śrīgaṇeśāya namaḥ | sphuradvidyudvallīvalayitamagotsaṅgavasatiṃ bhavāppittapluṣṭānamitakaruṇājīvanavaśāt | avantaṃ bhaktānāmudayakaramambhodhara iti pramodādāvāsaṃ vyatanuta mayūro'sya savidhe || 1|| subrahmaṇyo yo bhavejjñānaśaktyā siddhaṃ tasmindevasenāpatitvam | itthaṃ śaktiṃ devasenāpatitvaṃ subrahmaṇyo bibhradeṣa vyanakti || 2|| pakṣo'nirvacanīyo dakṣiṇa iti dhiyamaśeṣajanatāyāḥ | janayati barhī dakṣiṇanirvacanāyogyapakṣayukto'yam || 3|| yaḥ pakṣamanirvacanaṃ yāti samavalambya dṛśyate tena | brahma parātparamamalaṃ subrahmaṇyābhidhaṃ paraṃ jyotiḥ || 4|| ṣaṇmukhaṃ hasanmukhaṃ sukhāmburāśikhelanaṃ sanmunīndrasevyamānapādapaṅkajaṃ sadā | manmathādiśatruvarganāśakaṃ kṛpāmbudhiṃ manmahe mudā hṛdi prapannakalpabhūruham || 5|| iti jagadguru śṛṅgerīpīṭhādhipa śrīcandraśekharabhāratī śrīpādaiḥ viracitā śrīṣaṇmukhapañcaratnastutiḥ samāptā |
અર્થ:षण्मुख (भगवान मुरुगन) की "पञ्चरत्न" स्तुति — पाँच रत्न-श्लोक, जो षण्मुख, शिव-पुत्र, मयूरवाहन व वेलधारी प्रभु को वंदन करते हैं।

षण्मुख पञ्चरत्नम् જપ વિધિ
Bathe and sit facing east before an image of the deity. Light a lamp and recite the Shanmukha Pancharatnam slowly and with devotion. It may be chanted daily, or especially during Skanda Shashti and Krittika. Conclude with a prayer for grace and protection.
