Word-by-Word Breakdown

Complete Translation

Mother, victory to you, Mother Tulsi; giver of joy to all the world, the boon-granting mother of all. Above all yogas and above all diseases; guarding all from the dust (of sin), you are the saviour of all from worldly existence. You are dark-hued Shyama and the village-creeper; whoever, dear to Vishnu, serves you — that person is carried across. You rest upon the head of Hari (Vishnu) and are adored by the three worlds; renowned as the deliverer of fallen souls. Taking birth in the wilderness, you came into the divine abode; through you alone the world of men gains prosperity. You are most dear to Hari, the dark-hued, tender one; wondrous is his love — what a bond is yours with him! Remove our misfortune; show us your grace, O Mother.
