In the bhakti tradition, simply singing the names of the Lord (naam-kirtan) is held to be a complete spiritual practice. This dhun gathers Krishna's most cherished names into two short lines so that devotees of every age and ability can take part. It has long been a favourite for community singing, where the repetition of the divine names turns an ordinary gathering into shared worship.

✦ শাস্ত্রে যেমন বলা হয়েছে

The saints teach that there is no difference between the Lord and His name — to utter 'Govinda' or 'Narayana' with love is to invite His presence. Devotees who sing this dhun regularly describe a lightness of heart and a steadying of the mind, the natural fruit of constant remembrance of Krishna.

Sing it as a flowing dhun, repeating the two lines in call-and-response with clapping or simple instruments. Begin slowly and let the melody carry the gathering. Alone, repeat it softly as a remembrance of Krishna's names while walking or before sleep.
