durvṛttānāmaśeṣāṇāṃ balahānikaraṃ param rakṣobhūtapiśācānāṃ paṭhanādeva nāśanam

Meaning

It is the supreme reducer of the strength of all the wicked; by its mere recitation comes the destruction of rakshasas, bhutas and pishachas.
