शुक्र स्तोत्र

Verse 1
ॐ अश्वध्वजाय विद्महे धनुर्हस्ताय धीमहि ।
तन्नो शुक्रः प्रचोदयात् ॥
Om Ashvadhvajaya Vidmahe Dhanurhastaya Dhimahi
Tanno Shukrah Prachodayat
Om. May we know the horse-bannered one (Shukra); may we meditate on him who bears the bow. May that Shukra (Venus) inspire and impel us. (Shukra Gayatri)
Verse 2
ॐ द्रां द्रीं द्रौं सः शुक्राय नमः ॥
Om Dram Dreem Draum Sah Shukraya Namah
Om Dram Dreem Draum Sah — salutations to Shukra. (The Shukra bija mantra)
Verse 3
नमस्ते भार्गव श्रेष्ठ देव दानवपूजित ।
वृष्टिरोधप्रकर्तासि वृष्टिकर्ता त्वमेव हि ॥
Namaste Bhargava Shreshtha Deva Danava-pujita
Vrishti-rodha-prakartasi Vrishti-karta Tvameva Hi
Salutations to you, O best of the Bhargavas, worshipped by gods and demons alike; you alone hold back the rain, and you alone send it forth.
Verse 4
हिमकुन्दमृणालाभं दैत्यानां परमं गुरुम् ।
सर्वशास्त्रप्रवक्तारं भार्गवं प्रणमाम्यहम् ॥
Hima-kunda-mrinalabham Daityanam Paramam Gurum
Sarva-shastra-pravaktaram Bhargavam Pranamamyaham
Radiant as snow, jasmine and the lotus-stalk, the supreme guru of the daityas, the expounder of all the scriptures — to that Bhargava (Shukracharya) I bow.
Verse 5
शुक्रः शुक्राम्बरः शुभ्रः शुभदः शुभलक्षणः ।
शुभ्रांशुः शुभदृष्टिश्च शुभकृच्छुभवर्धनः ॥
Shukrah Shukrambarah Shubhrah Shubhadah Shubha-lakshanah
Shubhramshuh Shubha-drishtish-cha Shubha-krich-chhubha-vardhanah
Shukra, clad in white, pure and white-hued, the giver of good, of auspicious marks; of bright rays and auspicious gaze, the doer of good and the increaser of all good fortune.
