श्री शीतला माता आरती

Verse 1
मैया जय शीतला माता ।
आदि ज्योति महारानी सब फल की दाता ॥
Maiya jaya shitala mata
Adi jyoti maharani saba phala ki data
Mother, victory to Sheetla Mata; primordial light, great queen, the giver of every fruit.
Verse 2
रतन सिंहासन शोभित श्वेत छत्र भाता ।
ऋद्धि सिद्धि चँवर ढुलावें जगमग छवि छाता ॥
Ratana simhasana shobhita shveta chhatra bhata
Riddhi siddhi chanvara dhulavem jagamaga chhavi chhata
Resplendent on a jewelled throne, the white parasol gleaming; Riddhi and Siddhi wave the fly-whisk, your radiant image shining bright.
Verse 3
विष्णु सेवत ठाढ़े सेवें शिव धाता ।
वेद पुराण वरणत पार नहीं पाता ॥
Vishnu sevata thadha़e sevem shiva dhata
Veda purana varanata para nahim pata
Vishnu stands serving you, Shiva and Brahma serve you; the Vedas and Puranas describe you, yet find no end to your glory.
Verse 4
इन्द्र मृदंग बजावत चन्द्र वीणा हाथा ।
सूरज ताल बजावै नारद मुनि गाता ॥
Indra mridamga bajavata chandra vina hatha
Suraja tala bajavai narada muni gata
Indra plays the mridang, the Moon the veena in hand; the Sun keeps the rhythm and the sage Narada sings.
Verse 5
घण्टा शङ्ख शहनाई बाजै मन भाता ।
करैं भक्तजन आरती लखि लखि हर्षाता ॥
Ghanta shankha shahanai bajai mana bhata
Karaim bhaktajana arati lakhi lakhi harshata
Bell, conch and shehnai sound, delighting the heart; the devotees perform the aarti, rejoicing at the sight of you.
Verse 6
ब्रह्मरूप वरदानी तू ही तीन काल ज्ञाता ।
भक्तन को सुख देती मातु पिता भ्राता ॥
Brahmarupa varadani tu hi tina kala jnata
Bhaktana ko sukha deti matu pita bhrata
Of the form of Brahman, granter of boons, you are the knower of the three times; you give joy to devotees as mother, father and brother.
Verse 7
जो जन ध्यान लगावे प्रेम शक्ति पाता ।
सकल मनोरथ पावे भवनिधि तर जाता ॥
Jo jana dhyana lagave prema shakti pata
Sakala manoratha pave bhavanidhi tara jata
Whoever fixes the mind upon you in love gains power; he obtains every wish and crosses the ocean of existence.
Verse 8
रोगों से जो पीड़ित कोई शरण तेरी आता ।
कोढ़ी पावे निर्मल काया अन्ध नेत्र पाता ॥
Rogom se jo pida़ita koi sharana teri ata
Kodha़i pave nirmala kaya andha netra pata
Whoever, tormented by disease, comes to your refuge — the leper gains a pure body and the blind regain their eyes.
Verse 9
बाँझ पुत्र को पावे दारिद्र कट जाता ।
ताको भजै जो नाहीं सिर धुनि पछताता ॥
Banjha putra ko pave daridra kata jata
Tako bhajai jo nahim sira dhuni pachhatata
The barren woman gains a son and poverty is cut away; whoever does not worship you beats his head in regret.
Verse 10
शीतल करती जननी तू ही है जग त्राता ।
उत्पत्ति व्याधि बिनाशन तू सब की घाता ॥
Shitala karati janani tu hi hai jaga trata
Utpatti vyadhi binashana tu saba ki ghata
You cool and soothe, O Mother, you are the saviour of the world; you create, destroy disease, and are the end of all.
Verse 11
दास विचित्र कर जोड़े सुन मेरी माता ।
भक्ति आपनी दीजै और न कुछ भाता ॥
Dasa vichitra kara joda़e suna meri mata
Bhakti apani dijai aura na kuchha bhata
Your servant Vichitra folds his hands — hear me, O Mother; grant me your devotion, for nothing else delights me.
