tato yuddhamatīvāsīddevyā śumbhaniśumbhayoḥ śaravarṣamatīvograṃ meghayoriva varṣatoḥ

Meaning

Then ensued a fierce battle between the Devi and Shumbha-Nishumbha, with a most violent rain of arrows, like two clouds pouring rain.
